Porting is a technique that comes into play when dealing with tanks that lack a port, vent, or access point. The process of porting makes it possible for our polishing machines to access your tank and do what they do best: clean and purify.
In porting, we first find an ideal location to create a portal or entry point. Then, using a magnetic drill press, we machine a hole approximately 4 inches wide for access. We can perform this technique with diesel fuel still in the tank at no risk of fire.
Once the tank and fuel are polished and purified, a port is installed inside the tank through the hole we have created. This “sandwiches” the tank, sealing the bottom and top. In the end, the port has the appearance of a small manhole.
At Green Coast Fuel Management, we pride ourselves on our superior porting skills. We are experts in constructing these access points.
You can be assured that our work will be of the highest quality, allowing easy and safe access for years to come.
